If you read the story attached you will read how some bosses are returning to the bad old ways of treating their staff.
This is being done in fear – as bosses are concerned about finance, budgets and resources.
However the damage being done to the morale of the staff is irrepairable.
I am seeing with my own eyes and hearing from people about trust being replaced with suspicion, open door policies being replaced with micro managing managers who now look over the staff’s shoulders and questioning everything they do.
Your staff didn’t cause the financial crises and the public’s perception of financial difficulites. Please remember to be inclusive with your staff, even better, ask the staff what they can suggest to cut costs in your business, you may be surprised with the suggestions!
Don’t be a 1950’s boss- remain the the 21st century and keep the communication lines open!
