Time to do something a little different.

You’re invited to a Moonlighting event that is also a pyjama sleepover for a good cause.

I’ve realised it’s overdue for me (Sue) to hold my own Moonlighting night.

But I wanted to do something a little bit different.

I get asked questions by those of you who do get to see me (or text me, or Facebook me) but I am also aware that for some of you, there never seems the right time or place to ask.

My promises to catch up over coffee are fading as life has been busy.

So…. there is this little charity that is one of those special gems I have watched for the past 4-5 years that is starting to grow some wings. They are holding their very first major fundraiser for the homeless youth on the Northern Beaches. It’s called Burdekin.

I’ve been watching it and some of their directors and love their attitude!

It’s a sleepover, but a “soft sleepover”.

Meaning you can bring your pillow, etc, our gorgeous Karin from Catering By Design is doing the catering, and there was a hint there may be “bubbles” in some of the drink!

As this is the first time they are doing this, they want to make sure it is an enjoyable experience.

So I calling you out of the comfort of your homes (an excuse to get away from the other half or kids) and join me.
This is your chance to ask any question/s!

You & I will have ALL night, so I cannot run off!

We have an Inspiring Women Team set up so join us and if you cannot join us then please sponsor us!

Right now there are an estimated 200 youth on the Northern Beaches without permanent homes, many of them ‘hidden homeless,’ sleeping on couches and in cars as well as on the streets.
This is a really good opportunity for you to make an immediate and lasting difference.

  • Every dollar raised goes directly to The Burdekin Association, a
not-for-profit charity that providing housing, counselling and training
for young people in need  for more than 40 years.

All donations are tax deductible and go directly to The Burdekin Association, who have been helping children and young people on the Northern Beaches for over 30 years. They provide housing, counselling and training and have an astounding success rate – over 90% of the young people they work with go on to employment and independent housing. You can read some of their success stories here.

I’d be really grateful for any contribution you can make – to help support homeless youth click here.

What to bring

  • A sleeping bag or blankets and your favourite pillow.
  • An inflatable mattress or sleeping mat if you like your home comforts.
  • A torch (or use the one on your phone).
  • A big smile and a smart phone for photos – this is the launch of what we’re hoping will be a landmark annual event, so you can really help by spreading the word and raising awareness.

What to wear

Whatever you like. Your favourite pyjamas, trackie daks or activewear. If you’re part of a corporate or group team, uniforms or branded clothing will help your crew get more recognition. Whatever your fashion choices, aim for layers and comfort.
