We ask for your consideration in sponsoring Bushlink to carry out bushland restoration work on site at Arranounbai School, Allambie. Arranounbai School enrols students with disability. The types and levels of disability vary from physical disability to chronic medical conditions. http://www.arranoun-s.schools.nsw.edu.au/
Arranounbai School has contracted Bushlink to work on site for the past four years, 2 hours per month, to improve and maintain the areas of bushland surrounding the school as well as to liaise with the students.
The bushland needs more hours of regeneration than the school can fund on its own. We are looking for sponsors to assist with the cost. The objective is to add funds to enable a concentrated effort at regenerating the bushland, which will improve its resilience and sustainability in the longer term.
The school has an interactive learning environment with a focus on maintaining gardens, composting etc. The work in the bushland area will complement this work and aid learning about our natural environment along with providing peer modelling for its students. An example of a task to be completed, is clearing areas of weeds to create a path for wheelchair access into certain areas of bush for class activities.
The environment and local community will additionally benefit from this proposal as an area of highly disturbed vegetation, resembling Sydney Sandstone Ridge Top Woodland, will be regenerated to increase its resilience and improve the biodiversity of the site.
Sponsorship of just $380.00 will enable the Bushlink team to complete 1 full day’s work at Arranounbai School.
Beginning January 2018, you can choose to sponsor a month or multiple months. Eg. January = $380 OR January to April inclusive = $1520.00 and so on. Please note that this can be made as a donation and Tax Deductible receipt will be issued. If an invoice is required then +GST will apply.

FIND OUT ABOUT THE STREETWORK APPROACH
StreetWork aims to help teens troubled by destructive influences and behaviour to turn their lives around through one on one mentoring.
We firmly believe in early intervention as the best form of prevention. It can help avoid a downward spiral into crime, disengagement from education and mental health issues.
Our approach puts the young person in charge, as they are the only ones who can make the change.
We've learnt that only professional youth workers have the skills to guide troubled teens through this process; to see the risks and manage them through their crisis.
Through mentoring, our youth workers help them to discover and address the deeper issues that underlie the crisis.
At-risk youth rarely ask for help, so we've developed outreach programs to help us to connect before a crisis occurs.
Should the teen become engaged with the Police or the courts, our volunteers reach out to help them through our 24/7 advocacy service.
Others come to us through referrals from FACS, Juvenile Justice, The Beach School plus other partner charities and government agencies.
We address any immediate issues through crisis management, then help them get their lives back on track through our KickStart Mentoring program.
Our mentoring is supported by skill building to develop abilities, confidence and relationships.
Aftercare helps teens ease back into their new life after they have graduated from our mentoring programme
